CyberSafe Workshops featuring Steve Dotto
The Virtual School Society (VSS) in conjunction with Steve Dotto (http://dottotech.com/), creator of CyberSafe, are working with Provincial DPACs to bring CyberSafe workshops to Parents and Educators. The VSS is supporting three different types of workshops:
Local – Your PAC only or small groups - a local PAC representative or educator from a school can use the materials downloaded from the LearnNowBC.ca website to deliver the workshop themselves. Note: the facilitator's guide is available at http://www.learnnowbc.ca/lnbcresources/cybersafe/. This is free to download and use.
District – Your school district only – SMALLER SCALE - school districts can work with schools in their district to coordinate a larger presentation delivered either by a local PAC representative or educator OR by Steve Dotto. There would be a fee of $3,000 plus travel expenses associated with having Steve Dotto deliver this workshop.
Regional – LARGE SCALE! This workshop would be similar to the one which we offered with Steve at the BCCPAC conference in October 2008. VSS and London Drugs will pick up $2,000.00 of the $3,000.00 fee, while the PAC hosting is responsible for covering the remaining 1/3 fee plus expenses. The PAC could recoup this cost by charging admission to the workshop.
