A student in this program will receive course credit for Introduction to Secondary School Apprenticeship (2 credits) as well as credit for every 120 hours worked in the trrade up to 480 hours or a total of 18 credits. The course credits are Secondary School Apprenticeship (SSA) 11A, 11B, 12A, 12B. The student will receive a percent and letter grade based on the employer and teacher evaluation.
In addition when the student graduates from high school and has a C+ average in grade 12 and is working in their trade for 5 months after graduation and has more than 1100 hours in the trade, the student will qualify for a SSA $1,000.00 scholarship.
Evaluation: There is no testing in this program; however, a student must complete all the necessary applications and questions to qualify and also have their employer complete and return an evaluation after every 120 hours of work.
