Daily Physical Activity and Graduation Transitions
Starting in the 2007/2008 school year, Graduation Transitions replaced the Graduation Portfolio Assessment in the original 2004 graduation program. Graduation Transitions is worth four credits towards graduation and affects all BC secondary school students who are enrolled in Grade 10, 11 or 12 as of September 1, 2007.
For distributed learning students in grades 10 through 12, Daily Physical Activity will be integrated with the student's Graduation Transitions requirements.
Graduation Transition students must demonstrate they have met the following requirements for:
- Personal Health - maintain a personal health plan and participate in at least 150 minutes per week of moderate to vigorous physical activity (DPA)
- Community connections - participate in at least 30 hours of work experience and/or community service and describe what was learned
- Career and Life - complete a transition plan and present significant accomplishments
