Gold Trail Open Learning has operated for many years, serving the needs of students who learn at a distance. This year we have added the online component so that students can choose to receive live instruction. These live lessons are archived so that students who can not take part in the online class at the scheduled time can watch the lesson later.

The North Vancouver Distributed Learning School (NVDLS) provides both youth and adults an alternate way to complete Grade 10, 11, and 12 Ministry of Education courses leading to high school graduation. Students access courses in an online environment and complete their work both independently and in conjunction with their peers and teacher using web tools, course chat rooms, and via e-mail. Students also have access to the Distributed Learning Centre which provides face-to-face interaction with teachers, a computer lab, tutoring support, and test and exam invigilation. The Centre’s hours of operation and teacher availability are posted on the Distributed Learning website.

Central School has been offering online courses since 1999. Every course is taught by a certified BC teacher. Our teachers are passionate about online learning and are dedicated to helping you succeed. Our courses involve media-rich online resources, online discussions, and in some cases hands-on labs.

The Ministry of Education established 9 Regional Correspondence Schools between 1984 and 1990 which subsequently became the Distance Education Schools. The Vancouver Learning Network School was established in 1990 and serves students within the Lower Mainland.  The Vancouver Learning Network school now offers over 200 online and correspondence courses.
