CyberSafe Workshops featuring Steve Dotto
For the past year LearnNowBC in conjunction with Steve Dotto have been presenting Cyber Safe with Steve Dotto workshops to schools and communities across the province. Without fail the seminar has been applauded as a critical message that needs to be heard!
Due to the overwhelming success so far, we are pleased to announce the continuation of this initiative:
The Cyber Safe with Steve Dotto workshop addresses the issues faced by parents, educators and administrators as the Internet becomes a more vital communication medium.
Steve delivers a strong message to all in the audience. The world of Web 2.0 and collaborative computing has changed the world. The youth of the world, both working age and those still at home are increasingly at risk. Unfortunately it is an unique risk they are not equipped to deal with, and those, who should be protecting them from the risks are more often than not are not equipped either.
In Cyber Safe with Steve Dotto workshop, Steve will outline both the benefits and risks of Social networking and Web 2.0, as well as put them into perspective and give you the needed tools to come to terms with the opportunities, dangers and your inherent responsibilities.
Cyber Safety with Steve Dotto Workshop Details:
A typical seminar will be an evening presentation, lasting from 1.5 to 2 hours. Usually an entire community is invited (parents and teachers from one or more schools or districts).
Steve is usually available for additional media interview (radio, TV newspaper) to help promote awareness and message.
The main session is focused on parents, not children. He prefers limiting the number of children in the actual presentation (although we are aware sometimes kids need to attend, the content is geared to adults)

Pricing:
Sessions for teachers, administrators and parents:
Lower Mainland: $1,500
Rest of Province: $2,000 plus expenses (travel and hotel)
Note: for locations outside the lower mainland, Steve will be happy to include a PD session for educators or administrators on the same day as the main seminar, at no extra cost.
