Distributed Learning Delivery

Distributed learning is an alternative to classroom-based instruction for K-12 students.  It refers to learning that doesn’t require students to attend a classroom on a daily basis.

Distributed learning uses a variety of methods to meet BC learning outcomes, including:

• print-based materials
• CD-ROMs and online resources
• attending classes and tutorials using Internet tools
• connecting to teachers and others students using email, telephone and online chat.

Students can work together or they can work independently at their own pace.  Students are sometimes brought together to attend classes, participate in field trips or take provincial exams.  Be sure to find out about any requirements for attending classes before you sign up for a course.
