Teaching Key Concepts

Key Concepts are derived from the current provincial curriculum. The Key Concepts in the Curriculum (PDF) provides a quick overview for the fundamental concepts for Mathematics K to 12 and English Language Arts K to 12. 

The Ministry of Education has sponsored the development of two videos** demonstrating the teaching of key concepts for mathematics.

The first video** developed by the Surrey School District #36. It focuses on Math 8: Recognizing and Describing Patterns and Relations.

The second video** developed by the BC Principals and Vice Principals Association focuses on Estimation Strategies for Calculation and Problem Solving in Grades 4 and 5.
